LASER in implantology

LASER applications in dental Implantology

Our Dental Clinic in Thessaloniki is located at a very prominent spot at 10 Aristotelous Street, slightly above Tsimiski Street, on the third floor with simultaneous views of the Sea and the Ano Poli (Upper Town). It provides three surgical chairs, three surgical units, LASER for atraumatic cutting of tissues and the avoidance of healing problems such as pain and swelling.
In dentistry, the laser is used to produce a powerful, monochromatic beam of light with a specific wavelength, which can focus on specific areas and perform various functions.
Lasers can be used for the atraumatic uncovering of submerged implants, for the prevention of bone loss at the cervical end of the alveolar ridge, the reshaping of peri-implant soft tissues, and the sculpting of the emergence profile for prosthetic components. They can also assist in the lifting of surgical flaps, bone reshaping, and the architecture of adjacent tissues. Furthermore, the collection of bone block grafts from the external oblique ridge, the chin, or the maxillary tuberosity of the upper jaw and the preparation of a window in the lateral sinus lift are areas in which it can participate. Bone splitting and expansion, as well as the cleaning of post-extraction sockets for immediate implantation, has started to become very widespread in the field of implantology.
Accompanying systems to the laser are the piezoelectric bone management device, the bone incision system with a ridge disc for vertical regeneration, a bone expansion system (osteodistractors) for horizontal regeneration, GBR systems (guided bone regeneration) with collagen membranes, with titanium-reinforced membranes, titanium meshes, and bone collection scrapers.
All systems and products used are approved by the EU, the American Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and even the Canadian Federation for both their suitability and durability. The sterilization levels exceed the highest Greek and international standards. The practice has two modern sterilization autoclaves, ultraviolet radiation, a renewable atmosphere system, an ionizer, etc. The staff participating in the various stages of restoration are experienced Dentists with postgraduate studies.

For every implant or graft placed, there is archiving with their identity (serial number, type, dimensions, etc.) as well as details from the course of the operation.
