Dr Themistoklis Mylonas was born in Thessaloniki, where he grew up. In 1989 he graduated from the Dental School of Aristotle University. From 1990 to 1993 he attended postgraduate studies at the University of Freiburg and Berlin, the object of Perioprosthetics.
The Perioprosthetics is the area of dentistry that deals with both the treatment of gum tissue around the tooth, and the prosthetic restoration, ie crowns, bridges and dentures.
Along with the Graduate Studies Dr. Themistoklis Mylonas prepared his doctoral thesis on the subject of implantology.
These theoretical foundations were combined with the clinical experience gained both in the university and in the private clinic of placing hundreds of implants.
This knowledge was recognized through the scientific publications in Greece and abroad and provided the foundation on which he wrote the first book published in Greece on Implant Dentistry. The book was published in Thessaloniki by the Fototypotiki 1998.
His scientific endeavours include the co-foundation of the Society for the Scientific Study of Implantology in northern Greece. This scientific company was based on a core of scientists who recognized the role of the implants early. They aimed at the development of implants and the determination of the proper restoration on them.
In 2005, he started and completed a two-year Graduate Program in Periodontology and Implantology at the University of Witten (Germany) for training on graft materials.
Dr Themistoklis Mylonas and his team are working in a private dental clinic in Thessaloniki on all types of implant restoration. The range of the implant restorations begins by restoring a tooth when it is missing or damaged, or even when more than one tooth or all are missing. Depending on the requirements of the patient and the clinical data, the restorations can be immediate and finish within 72 hours or delayed and finish within two months.
